Path2Integrity IBE partners with a new publication on the role of the P2I role models
Path2Integrity members from the Instytut Badań Edukacyjnych Dr. Agnieszka Dwojak-Matras, Dr. Katarzyna Kalinowska and Dr. Agnieszka Koterwas have published a paper on the role of the role models idea used in Path2Integrity in the Polish journal Człowiek i Społeczeństwo.
The Polish paper is yet another successful publication prepared on the basis of the Path2Integrity project research results. The subject of the article is the use of role models in building an academic culture of research integrity.
In the introduction the authors write: "In this paper we address the topic of informal and imitative learning in the context of the ethical formation of scientists. The aim of the text is to identify the place of role models in the academic learning process and to indicate what characteristics a good scientist should have according to students, undergraduates and PhD students."
The qualitative analysis of the collected data distinguished two profiles of a good scientist: the accessible one, who sets an example for his/her charges in a direct relationship, and the distanced one, admired for his/her work ethos and outstanding achievements.
